How to: International Addresses

How to: International Addresses

It doesn’t happen often, but when we do receive a complaint about letters that are not delivered it’s often connected to the address. Did you for example that we translate all addresses for China in Chinese?

If you are sending out a letter to a country that you have no experience in yet you could do on of the following suggestions.

  1. Ask the addressee for a correct formatted address.
  2. Use sites like these.
  3. Add the addressee’s telephone number to the address, This is especially handy in thin populated countries.
  4. Always have the country name as a separate line item on the address (Granted, this is more for our software then anything else but still)

 Happy Mailing!

The long lost art of the Letterhead.

18 March, 2010 (11:11) | Uncategorized | By: admin

Browse this website, and ask yourself. Would your letterhead be added to a collection like this?

Your stationary is the paper face of your company and jet most companies add a simple logo in the upper corner and make sure that all the contact info is in the header/footer and that’s it!

I would like to make a stand for the letterhead and invite you all to reconsider your business collateral with some great new designs!

MS-Word and the BlueMailCentral Plugin a happy marriage!

10 March, 2010 (14:28) | Letters from BlueMail | By: admin

The MS-Word plugin is almost ready to be unleashed to the world!

This means that you can print directly from MS-Word to the BlueMailCentral software. Our first speed test resulted in 4,5 seconds to print and upload a document. That’s only 1,5 seconds slower then printing the document to your regular printer!

If you need plugins for other applications then please let us know!

60 million Americans don’t use the interwebs

26 February, 2010 (15:59) | Letters from BlueMail | By: admin

Especially in the Netherlands a lot of people often ask me who is still sending
paper mail any way? With the internet and all that. My response is always the
same that a lot of companies still prefer invoices and contracts on paper.

Also a lot of companies are not or badly connected to the Internet. But I never
had the numbers because they simply weren’t available. Well, lo and behold.

Thanks to a survey hold by the Broadband Data Improvement Act as
commissioned by George W. we now have the numbers! According to this
article 93.000.000 US citizens don’t have a breadband connection and a
staggering 60.000.000 don’t have an Internet connection at all.

Feel free to nod your head in disbelief but it’s true!

If somebody happens to have numbers like this from other countries then
please let me know!

Apparently our software was disappointing by design.

24 February, 2010 (11:14) | Letters from BlueMail | By: admin

Our customers use our software to send letters all over the world against local
postal tariffs. Thus saving time and money. The first letter you send is for
free.

Also our software automatically searches and displays the address found in the
document that the user wants to send. We thought it might look a bit daft if the
software would find the senders address since it was likely that nobody would
send a letter to himself.

Well, it turns out that almost everybody sends the first letter to their own
address. And the software would happily ignore their own address like we
designed the software to do. As a result the users who tested our software were
disappointed because we could not find their address.

Now we released a new version of the software that displays your own address but
only if there are no other addresses found in the document. As a result the
conversion ratio from test users to paid users has doubled since the new
release.

This came to light thanks to a complaint from one of our valued users. Thank
you for complaining
and thank you for taking the effort to tell us where we
can improve.
